Always see your GP first to rule out medical causes. If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone — many children find it easier to change how they feel through imagination and play than through talking alone.
Gentle, child-friendly support for anxiety, sleep problems, big emotions and school worries.
It’s hard to watch your child struggle with fears, tummy aches, bad nights or big feelings they can’t explain. At Hypnotherapist in Melbourne, Olivia Walford and Hayley Peck work as hypnotherapists for children in Melbourne, helping children and teens feel calmer, more confident and more in control. Sessions are held at our Beaumaris clinic in Bayside Melbourne, or online via Zoom.
Always see your GP first to rule out medical causes. If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone — many children find it easier to change how they feel through imagination and play than through talking alone.
Children’s hypnotherapy uses focused relaxation and imagination to help a child learn calming skills and try new, helpful ways of thinking and feeling. It isn’t stage hypnosis. Your child stays aware and in control the whole time and can open their eyes or stop whenever they want.
Children are naturally good at this. They already slip into a focused, imaginative state when they read, draw or play. As a hypnotherapist for children in Melbourne, Olivia uses that ability in a gentle, guided way.
“Your child stays aware and in control the whole time.” That’s the one thing every parent asks about first — and the one thing we lead with in every session.

Every child is different and results vary. Hypnotherapy is not a replacement for medical care.
Tell us what's happening and ask any questions. There's no cost and no obligation.
We get to know your child through conversation and play, and give them a short, gentle first experience of relaxation so they know what to expect.
Each one is tailored to your child, using stories, imagery and games.
Your child gets a short audio recording to use between sessions, which helps the skills stick.
We check progress with you and agree when to finish. Most children need about [X–X] sessions. We'll give you an honest estimate after the first session.

From the first communication with Olivia, I felt like she genuinely cared for my well being and wanted to help. Her confidence in me and her own practice really bought me confidence in her as a professional. Olivia followed up with me and gave me time and space, I really appreciate it. ThankyouPosted on Google Ariana CristalliniTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I felt completely lost and was at my wit’s end. I honestly believed I was unfixable and that I’d be stuck feeling this way forever. Even though I was convinced nothing would work, I decided to give it a go and started looking into hypnotherapy as a potential fix. I couldn't recommend Olivia more. If you're a skeptic who wants to be proven wrong, give her a call. She is so warm, kind, and understanding that you’ll instantly feel comfortable opening up to her, no matter how strange or deep your issue might feel. Unlike traditional therapy (which didn't work for me) Olivia actually delves into subconscious issues to alleviate them at the root. In just a few sessions, my anxiety has significantly decreased. I feel lighter, more positive, and genuinely hopeful. If you're feeling lost and don't know what step to take next, Olivia is your person. I am beyond grateful to her and truly feel like a refreshed person with a brand new outlook on life. It is a great next step on anyone's healing journey to becoming your best you. Thank you so much, Olivia! xoxoPosted on Google Brooke CoxTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I can’t recommend Olivia enough. I had wanted to give up vaping for years and tried so many times on my own, but could never fully do it. My biggest motivation is wanting to have a baby and become the healthiest version of myself, and finding Oliver honestly changed everything for me. Her approach is so supportive, calming and completely judgement-free. She helped me understand things in a way that finally clicked, and for the first time I truly feel in control instead of fighting myself every day. I’m so grateful I found her, she has genuinely been life changing for me. If you’ve been struggling with vaping or any habits you want to break, I highly highly recommend her.Posted on Google Mary FerizisTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Olivia genuinely changed my life. I couldn’t recommend her more highly to anyone. She is such an amazing person and makes you feel so comfortable, even when you have to be vulnerable. Her therapy has helped me in so many ways, and I am so grateful to her.Posted on Google Yasmin WTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Working with Olivia has been absolutely transformational for me! The moment I met her, I knew she was special - her energy, warmth, and caring nature allowed me to open up quickly and freely, like chatting with an old friend :) Despite not knowing what to expect, I instantly felt calm, heard and understood. Olivia is extremely intuitive and was able to identify the underlying cause of some issues that had bothered me for a long time (without knowing how to explain them myself!) In just a few sessions with Olivia, I have been able to make to make more progress than through years of other therapies. She is truly gifted at what she does and I am so grateful to have worked with her... my only regret is not doing it sooner! Thank you Olivia, you are incredible xxxPosted on Google Jessica ZarkovicTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Olivia is a highly skilled hypnotherapist. She is empathetic by nature, makes you feel at ease and cared for and is an expert at helping you identify areas for improvement in your life and mind. I've seen some big changes in various aspects of my life after only a few sessions. It really works! Highly recommend her.Posted on Google Kate MTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. After months of seeing psychologists and doctors, a friend suggested Olivia. My teenage daughter experienced bullying and avoided school for 6 months as a result. Her mental health was in a terrible state and continued to deteriorate, becoming apprehensive to leave the house. "Medical professionals" suggested medication as the 'next solution' to mitigate clinical depression and anxiety. I was desperate to find a pathway for my daughter that didn't lean on pharmaceuticals as the 'go to' solution in resolving her struggles and hurt due to bullying. My daughter was internally paralysed with sadness, anxiety and seemingly nowhere to turn. I took my friend's advice and made an appointment with Olivia. What took place after my daughter's first session with Olivia was truly miraculous - her spirit shifted, her perspective shifted, she was 'open' to leaving the house and became generally proactive in daily life. After a handful of sessions, she found her inner courage to gradually rise above negative internal chatter, holding a lighter headspace with a philosophical outlook that continues to support her in navigating life as a teenager in these times. My daughter continues to reach for courage when overwhelmed, attends school and has a brighter and renewed outlook on life. I can't speak of Olivia highly enough - she simplified her approach to me, along the lines of, reconciling and directing negative thoughts to the 'back row' to create space for positive experiences in the 'front row'. Olivia has enlightened my daughter to embrace this way of 'being' and I am eternally grateful for the positive, beautifully subtle and bright shift that took place and continues to grow. Thank you Olivia :)Posted on Google Carly LlorenteTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I can’t thank Olivia enough for the incredible support and care she has provided to my daughter. When we first reached out, my daughter was and addictive behavior that was affecting her confidence and daily life. Through patient, compassionate sessions, Olivia helped her gain control over those impulses and build a deep sense of self-belief. What truly stands out is Olivia's ability to create a safe, calming space where my daughter felt comfortable, understood and empowered. Over time, we’ve seen remarkable progress, she’s more confident, balanced, and proud of her own growth. I wholeheartedly recommend Olivia to anyone seeking positive, lasting change. Her professionalism, warmth, and skill have made a real difference in our family’s life.Posted on Google Rhys HorsleyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I came in to Hypnotherapist in Melbourne for anxiety issues. Olivia was so great to work with she was very understanding of my needs and what I was looking to achieve. The whole process was really relaxing and the results are amazing! And price wise there’s no comparison, other hypnotherapist charge 3 or 4 times the price

Research supports clinical hypnotherapy for some childhood conditions, including functional tummy pain and IBS. Evidence is stronger for some issues than others, so we’re honest about what it can and can’t do.
